Houses

The chart wheel is divided into four quadrants or sectors of life experience and projection, which are then subdivided into three sections. In order to calculate and delinate the chart modern Astrologers are given some latitude in choosing a method related to personal theory or personal interpretation based on the mathematical degrees used to divide the quadrants.

The Ascendant

or rising sign calculation and determined by the zodiac constellation resting on the eastern horizon at the time of birth said to be the way the soul energy enters into the body and allows expression in the first phase of this lifetime.
The Rising sign is essentially the mask or appearance we feel comfortable showing to the world and those in our environment.
The Ascendant also represents the first phase of life and childhood implying the focus on us to develop our earthly persona.
The Ascendant is a powerful expression in combination with the Sun and Moon in determining how the person will express themselves.
Ascendant expression is more authentic or pure in expression if the sun and moon combine in sign. If all three elenments live in diffrent experession or sign it is the Rising sign that steps out first in appearnce and takes conrol of the personality.

The Descendant, opposite the Ascendant on the wheel indicates how we deal with one-to-one relationships and the need for them.

The Imum Coeli: (I.C.)[Nadir] The expression of the person with there friends and families. The planets lying near (within 1° or so) to the IC denote the past lives of the individual and an intense and extreme reaction to the past life connection.

The Medium Coeli:(M.C.)[Midheaven] The chart indicates a a particular calling or profession or path with an overall drive for achievement.

House Dividing Systems:

The way of dividing the houses varies according to the method used. The best-known are the Koch ( this syetms focuses on the pression timing of life events and ca be used to callulate specific events and make plans hen timing is of importance.(developed by Dr. Walter Koch), Placidus- (this system is used to despher and explore the emotional content of the chart and the persons soul drive in theis life the timing is well apsected but the emotional emlement is highlighted (developed by Placidus de Titus),
Campanus(developed by Giovanni Campani) and Regiomontanus (developed by Johannes Muller) and Equal House ( a system that that takes the Ascendant or first house and divides the remaining 11 houses into equal 30 degrees slices.
The Midheaven House System starts with the Coeli or Midheaven being the cusp of the 10th house and dividing the other 11 house as equal 30 degree slices.
If the time of birth is not known either because of Country of origon, culture or closed adoption records then I tend to run the chart for a 6am time which puts the Sun on the Ascendent and allows for the flow of the personality to shine through the aspects that form with the remainder of the chart.

Houses have their own action regardless of degree or sign placed on the cusp or Planets residing in the house.

Angular Houses the first forth seventh and tenth houses thes houses are generally connected to Cardinal - focused climbing energy and their qualities.

Succedent Houses- the second, fifth, eigth and eleventh house assocuetd with the drive of fire sign energy.

Cadent houses the third sixth ninth and twelfth house these houses are ruled by mutable or chanageable signs and are associated with mutable qualities.

HOUSES

First House: Soul purpose and life intent, what were you born to experience. The way you look and appear, your gene pool and ability to acheive your goals through the use of the physical body and appearance along with the genetic make up constitution and vitality.
Your persoanlity projection, type of personality, your personal awareness of life and vital energy.
The physical traits of the individual. Your life force and how you learn form a new perspective.
Natural house of Aries and an Angular house focused on life and life expression within the physicality of your body energies.
